The Little Hat that Couldn’t

yarmulke

This was my first attempt at making a hat from a simple pattern. I picked a yarn that was *slightly* less than what was called for (the pattern called for worsted, I used sport weight) but still I liked the way it turned out.

Aside from the fact that I knitted what could either be a yarmulke or a pot holder.

    It’s actually an acrylic/cotton blend so it won’t felt I don’t think.
I took what was left of the skein and attempted to knit another hat, same style.

I ran out of yarn before it was big enough to fit my head. It might fit on the head of somebody with a smaller head than I (I have a big head).

But I am nothing if not persistant. I went to Hobby Lobby and found a heavier weight version of the same color, which I’m kintting into a hat right now.

We’ll see how it turns out.

  4. It’d make a cool rosette.

get some of that stiffy stuff and make a bowl. I saw some gorgeous felted knitted bowls for sale at an art museum and was thinking I could do that!

Actually, I’ve repurposed it as a potholder. :-D So all is well.
