The ones that got away

by becca.elpy of Not Rachel

I had a little collection going in my jewelry. I called it Keyword Overload because it was macrame, chainmaille and asymmetric. I had circles, rectangles and squares but wanted to try a design with triangles.

On paper, this worked. But it was super-confusing to figure out to attach the threads, add new ones, incorporate wire and add the beads. The originally chainmaille idea had to be scrapped for something simpler and it didn’t quite hold as taut as it needed to. And they didn’t hang straight.

I took a nice pic, hoping I could list them and pass off the design flaws while I rehashed the idea. Couldn’t bring myself to do it, though. Instead, they languished on my macrame board and ended up being harvested for parts. Yep.

  2. Your blog is hilarious!! Me and my husband were laughing so hard we were crying!! I am so glad to see other people failing at crafts – how horrible is that, but it makes me feel a little better about my own failed attempts. Thanks for making it funny!!!

Oh psh. You fail in the world of failing. Get back over there to the world of “win” *pushes you* That isn’t a failure; that is a quirky, fun piece of art.

Did you SEE my zipper!? LOL
