I was trying to make just your basic hat..and it turned into one of the fugliest hats I’ve ever seen. It kinda looks like a giant knit boob complete with sticky up nipple.
Heh, I actually think it’s kinda cute. What I would do (and that’s just me) is sew on some green leafies around the opening (where your face goes), and make it look like an upside-down radish!
ROTFLMAO
That’s actually kinda funny. I have some hideous moss green that I might try to knit leaves with. *goes to research radishes* And I know how to sort of make a leaf (see the Calling Adam and Eve entry)
So this happened to me.. the nipple thing, but my housemate loved it and asked me to knit her one. So I did now we have matching nipple hats. Our new boy housemate is keen on one now too and I’ve sold them like this… Maybe its an English thing??
Maybe if it was a different color? Black, brown or blue would have looked not so hideous.
You could always tell people you wanted to make Phrygian cap, just like the ancient Persians used to wear!
You know…bleach it and you could claim it as a smurf’s hat!
You could always make a giant boob costume for Halloween with the hat as a nipple!

Maybe a pompom or tassel on top would help?
Aw, I thought it looked sort of like a strangely pink acorn top. :P
It’s WAY better than I could ever do – I would wear it! :) But I love the name of this post – very funny :)
I think it is cute…but it does makes the wearer look like a cupie doll! heehee!
