I was helping friends host a co-ed shower last summer, and I was in charge of the cupcakes. There were a lot of cupcakes to be made for the large guest list. I decided a simple swipe with icing was the way to go, and then add little homemade picks to the top to go with our Italian dinner ‘amore’ theme. I placed my 48 cupcakes in the back of my car, and drove down the Texas roads….forgetting that it’s A) Texas, and B)Icing, and C) Summer. When I arrived this is what I had to offer. Nobody has asked me to bring cupcakes to any future events. I can’t decide if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. :O)
Oh my, It looks like you poured glue all over the cupcakes. But at least no one ask you to bring them anymore!
Even professional bakers have trouble with the Texas heat! This was on Cake Wrecks today:

haha! Those are too funny!
LOL, that is too funny! I love it!
Oh – I think we can all feel for you on this one!
I can’t help but be reminded of this fun poem. Hopefully it will help give you a laugh about the whole thing:
How Not To Have To Dry the Dishes
By Shel Silverstein
If you have to dry the dishes
(Such an awful, boring chore)
If you have to dry the dishes
(‘Stead of going to the store)
If you have to dry the dishes
And you drop one on the floor—
Maybe they won’t let you
Dry the dishes anymore.
Thats just so funny

Don’tcha just LOVE Texas in the summer? LOL
What part of Texas, if ya don’t mind me asking? DFW area here.
Lol that always happens to me I never have the patience to let the cupcakes cool before I ice them. Now I force myself to only ice them as there being eaten and not before.
