They started out as ordinary, cheap, white sneakers that I bought at Wal-Mart. Well, plain white sneakers are BORING, so I decided I would spice them up with a funky paint job, making them all artsy and fun and interesting.
It looked way cooler in my head than it ended up in reality, only because the paint didn’t stick! In fact, it started peeling off right after the first time I wore them. As you can see, nearly all the gold metallic paint has flaked off, and the blue and red are looking pretty sad, as well. The fake rhinestones, on the other hand, will probably be there forever, as I applied them with that two-part epoxy that you mix together. I think it’s made from the same stuff that hardens dead bugs to windshields.
So now I’m stuck with hideous sneakers that look as if they have a contagious skin disease, all because I didn’t think to use some kind of sealer on them first! But hey, at least they have cute, sparkly rhinestones on them. And of course I wear them, because they’re comfy, and good walking shoes are hard to come by!
Oh man this is a great activity for first-graders, and you can’t expect 7-year-olds to end up with a beautiful product after all. But wait, why are the shoes so big…?
Yeah, definitely NOT one of my prouder moments in crafting! X>}
A really a mazing attempt! Look at it this way, you used your creativity and still have comfy shoes!
BAHAHAHAHAHAHA Makes me think of ghetto power rangers. I must say I love it!
I say: Break out the Sharpies!!
Oh this is a delicious hot mess. I love it. Thank you for your bravery!
oh thank you, thank you so much for sharing this idea. I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time. I think in our minds sometimes, our ideas are so good, and then they come out so wrong….again, thank you for allowing me to giggle!!
Hahaha, thank for make me happy.
None of what I am seeing even makes sense! Anyone who thinks in terms of “funky” and “artsy” should slowly put down the glue gun and back away from the craft table.
