Subject: Cowl Fail
Matt’s mom recently taught me how to knit. So like the “pro” crafter I am i picked up on it quite fast and have made about 6 scarfs for christmas presents so far that look great! ( seriously they really do some even have fancy patterns). So i decided to pick up a set of circular knitting needles and try my hand at making a cowl.
Cowl #1 went fairly smoothly, as I was knitting it did seem to be bunched up a bit, but hey it was my first try so I just assumed this was how it worked. I had Matt call his mom to see if you take the knitting off circular needles the same way you do regular knitting needles. So i took the knitting off the needles and then turned into a ball of laughter.
The finished cowl is about 4 feet wide, it wraps around my neck 3 times and still hangs a bit.
Well I am not a quitter, so I tried again, making sure to use less stitches. So excited that this one was going to be the right size, I finished it off an then proceeded to throw it across the room. I have succeeded in making a mobius cowl – what a twist!
Call me crazy, but I rather like the Moebius Cowl! =D
I think the mobius cowl is really awesome, actually!
Mobius cowl! I love it!
I’ve just bought a pair of circular needles this week, looking forward to trying them out :D
Seriously? That mobius cowl has retail potential. It looks great!
hehe, knitting fails are my fav, but that’s probably because I’ve been knitting the same project off and on for a year (that’ll teach me to pick the longest Dr. Who scarf for a first project)
I do love the mobius cowl. Maybe you can try knitting Klein hats. http://www.kleinbottle.com/klein_bottle_hats.htm
That’s not a fail – that’s a Feature!
How to be warm, geeky and stylish at the same time? Mobius cowl! I love it!
I honestly wasn’t paying any attention to your mobius cowl. The only thing i saw was your Narwhal on a pogo stick shirt. What is that?
