I am making Butterick 9214 into a coat and I have modified the pattern so much that I have had to make my own sewing instructions…
I nicknamed it the Frankenpattern because of all the bits and pieces that I have taken everywhere to make all the changes I wanted.
I changed the sleeves and the armscye so I could wear a sweater underneath, and after seeing this Derek Lam shawl collar hood, I added one as well. It does rain a lot in the winter here, it might come in handy.
Then I thought it would be a good idea to do the sleeves first to get them out of the way, forgetting sewing common sense altogether. Duh!
I don’t wanna talk about it.
I’ve always been careful not to drink and sew, but apparently a slight hangover can also impair your better judgment as well as erase all of your sewing knowledge. I am going back to bed!

Haha. Quite a miscalculation.
can you tuck the sleeves into the sleeves like a telescope? Otherwise, it’s kind of like Morticia’s gown, but in a good way of course.
