Money Shot Lies, This is a Craft Fail

Don’t ever trust a craft blogger. The beautiful “glamor shot” they use to promote their craft rarely shows how the finished product will be used or displayed in real life!

Sometimes, after the last pictures have been taken, and the tutorial is complete, drastic measures must be taken in order to make a project truly useable. But does that mean it is really a craft fail?

You be the judge. But ‘fess up, craft bloggers. Do any of your crafts hold up in real life?

I don’t understand what the failure is.

  2. Jeanne says:

The “fail” is having to cut out a hole for the light switches after the project was done in order to actually use it in real life. She left that part out of her blog… Ha.

Tweaking crafts for functionality in a real household is not always pretty; but, as long as the end product works and you use it, I call that a win.
    ;)

  3. Should I be excited that I’m a craft fail? Tee Hee…
@Jeri – no lightswitch on the left… lightswitch on the right!

  4. Monica says:

The final picture has been altered, she had to put the frame over the light switch so she “photoshopped” the final picture to make it look perfect, in reality she had to cut a hole in the frame for the light switch. I wish more people would show that reality, makes me feel better!! lol

Duh, I wondered with that little square was. Couldn’t tell what it was – but now I see! Wouldn’t it have been better to just move it.
