Since my fiance, Ryan, was born on Halloween, I decided that it would be a great idea to make him something festive instead of a traditional birthday cake. I searched around and found this great recipe for a pumpkin cake! Bake two bundt cakes, flip them on top of one another and ice them orange. How easy is that! As you can see, I totally nailed it and have a bright future as a cake decorator.

Amazingly hideous :D
you know i saw this same thing a couple years ago and was going to make it for my own october birthday and i think maybe the recipie i used wasnt dense enough cause mine squished together when i stacked them and didnt look much like a pumpkin either :(
You almost HAVE to use the bundt cake recipe on the cake mix box for this to work. Otherwise the cake just isn’t dense enough to stand up to the added weight of all that icing, plus an additional cake on top. LOL
My baby girl and her 18th birthday cake. Yep, used the bundt recipes!
Well, with a little cake decor experience, I can tell you that canned icing was certainly one of your biggest errors. I wonder if the smaller bundt pans would work though. And.. there’s seperate “bundt” directions on the cake mix? Hm. I’ll have to check that out.
