Jan 16My intent was to bake beautiful sugar cookie shapes (with my 7 year old daughter) that we could decorate. We didn’t even make it to the decorating stage! The cookies sort of…took on their own identities in the baking process. Straight up cookie shape rebellion.

You just let the dough get too warm before baking. The butter also should be cold, not melted, or everything spreads. Try again with softened, cool butter & dough, it will work!
