It’s 3 o’clock. You’re the kids are hungry, you quick browse the latest pins for snackspiration. Bam! Turn their cheese sticks into fried love, direct from mom.
Announce to the kids: “Snack time in 10 minutes!” after happily breading the cheese stick pieces thinking, “what an amazing mommy I am! My children will weave wondrous tales of all the delicacies I slaved over…the crafts I have spun for them…”
Hopes melt into a blob of goo, along with the cheese.
And oh yeah … we totally ate it.
Thanks for the inspiration project, Just Add A Slice of Love!
Crap, I was going to make these tonight. Maybe I’ll freeze the cheese sticks.
Had a good laugh at that one. Thanks for sharing.
I tried these as well and tried several variations … NOTHING worked and they certainly did not look like the original pin. I tried popping the cheese in the freezer for a few hours before putting it into the batter, nope. I tried putting them in the batter then, the freezer before the oven, nope. I too still ate the finally product simply because I did not want to feel defeated!!
They work if you cuz the cheesticks up into small pieces and freeze them for a day. Ive tried it and it works every time as long as you dont allow the sticks to thaw before they get in the oven.
These worked for me with string cheese but not other types of cheese. Not sure freezing would make a difference b/c you’re still heating it..
