It happens all the time – innocent people stumble across a recipe on Pinterest that looks easy, and despite all the times Pinterest has screwed us over with its evil lies, they think the recipe is actually as easy as it looks.
And if you don’t have *exactly* what the instructions call for? Forget about it.
That’s what happened to CraftFail friend Melissa, when she found these cream cheese mints by Real Women of Philadelphia Canada. Just a few simple ingredients piped out of a star-tipped pastry bag – they don’t even have to be cooked! How could this go wrong?
Well, Melissa couldn’t find her fancy piping supplies, so she used the good old-fashioned standby: a plastic baggie with the corner snipped off. Pretty clever, huh? Yes, except as it turns out, the star tip must be what makes these look like minty green treats to pop in your mouth, instead of mini piles of green poop plopped on your tray.
Says Melissa, “It looked like our elf on the shelf had taken a series of small sh*ts on a cookie sheet!”
Too true, Melissa – but wait, it gets better! Making the most of a crappy situation (see what I did there?), she dubbed them Elf Poop and they were a huge hit with the kids! So popular, in fact, that the next time they were at the grocery store and the cashier asked Melissa’s 2-year-old son what his favorite thing in the cart was, he glanced over the food and declared, “No see elf sh*t…”
“Oops,” says Melissa. “Guess he heard me talking to my husband after all!”
