Okay, if you don’t care for the term Noodle Weenies, I’ve also seen them referred to as Hairy Hot Dogs – is that better? No, not really, so maybe we should go with the much classier (and more accurately descriptive) “threaded spaghetti hot dog bites” as seen on Very Culinary. You know we like to keep it classy around here.
Hey, no laughing!
Anyway, when CraftFail fan Kyla was asked by a new Mom Friend if she was making those hot dogs “with the noodles in them from Pinterest” for dinner, naturally Kyla said yes – because she is nothing if not Pinterest-level fancy. No spaghetti/tubed meat recipe is beyond the scope of her cooking skills!
Plus, how hard could it be? Just stick some raw spaghetti into hot dogs and boil, right?
Oh, I guess she was supposed to cut the hot dogs into slices first, huh? Kyla dubbed these Poodle Dogs, but I would like to respectfully submit another name suggestion: Sausage Centipedes.
Hmm, no wonder her kids wouldn’t eat them. See the whole story, including how one hot dog ended up with acne, on her blog, Mommy’s Weird.
For more laughs, visit Robyn at Hollow Tree Ventures, where she sticks to plain hot dogs and considers it fancy if she serves them on a bun.
