Australian Flag Fail

Australian flag cakeHere’s a fun idea to celebrate someone who’s super patriotic, or who’s moving to another country, or who enjoys eating baked goods – make them a cake that looks like a flag! After all, a flag is rectangular. A cake is rectangular. COINCIDENCE? I think not.

This Australian flag cake was made by user mlynnb and posted to Cake Central, where it subsequently inspired Tracy – baker, reluctantly-admitted occasional craftfailer, and sister to doughnut hole mangler Ebony – to give it a try.

Australian flag cake failI see what she did there! Its a post-apocalyptic artistic representation of how, long after the world has been mostly melted by nuclear radiation, Australia will continue to be moist and delicious! Right? Am I close?

    Well, the original cake used fondant, and this one didn’t so… yeah of course it doesn’t look so good. Not a fail.
