From trees to trains, pre-made gingerbread kits continue to tempt us with the allure of implied simplicity (“Well, how hard could it be? It’s all pre-cooked! Everything in included in the box! All I have to do is assemble it – IT’S SO EASY!” we say to ourselves), and yet they continue to confound us with how infuriatingly complicated they actually turn out to be.
Sadly, this Spongebob Squarepants gingerbread pineapple kit by Wild Baker proved just that tempting – and just that impossible – for CraftFail reader Kristin. She followed the instructions, stacking the enclosed cookies and sticking them together with icing, then decorating “as shown.” She even remembered to draw Plankton, since his exclusion from the kit was obviously an oversight on the part of the manufacturer.
It should turn out perfectly, pretty much exactly like the package – plus Plankton, which is even BETTER – right?
Sings Kristin, “Whooooooo… lives in a space hive with blue bumblebees? Spongebob! Squarepants!”
For more funny find Robyn at Hollow Tree Ventures, where she avoids this problem by stacking the cookies directly in her mouth.
