This Rainbow Fan Really Blows

Here’s a photo you’ve probably seen on Pinterest and thought, “What a clever idea – I should try that!”

According to the rainbow fan blade tutorial on Painting and Art, it’s exactly as easy as it looks. Just paint each of your fan blades a different color, wait for the paint to dry and enjoy your new rainbow fan! What could go wrong?

Kayla Christine found that out the hard way:

However, if it makes you feel any better Kayla, almost every post and tutorial I found about this project was followed by comments from disappointed crafters saying it didn’t work. As one person, David, points out, “Doesn’t work in real life. Only works in pictures or video, since it slows it down enough to see the colors.” Sorry, Pinterest, but you can’t beat science! Or technology. Or whatever that would be.
