Halloween Glitter Goes Chunky and Wrong

Decoupaging with Mod Podge – the “fail-less” craft you ask?  Try again.  In so many ways it is easy to ruin a Mod Podge project, and I proudly bring you one of them, featuring glitter.  Halloween is my very favorite holiday, and to start the celebration I decided to do a set of minis – one mini plaque and two mini birdhouses.  The other projects survived.  This one did not.  Note its two biggest problems:

1.  Glitter missing in a huge patch where I clumped it and it scraped off
2.  White-ish clumps of glitter where I tried to go back and “fix” problem areas

Nevermind the complete overabundance of annoying polka dots, threatening to consume the project.  Rather than focus on my fail, however, I continue to Mod Podge on a daily basis with much success.  Come visit me at Mod Podge Rocks! and learn how to use Mod Podge, and I promise it’s easy, despite my glitter mess.  Look for the other two projects from this series, and Happy (upcoming) Halloween!

    It’s not that bad!

Mod Podge is water soluble so if you wanted to salvage it, you could probably just clean off an area and redo it.

I love the idea though, mind if I steal it?

I’ll have to visit your blog. I, too, love mod podge and nothing in my home is safe from my mod podge brush. lol.

That’s not a fail! As I was scrolling down, I thought that was the “good” example and I would see the fail further down.
