Remember Picasso

December29

by Heather from DollarStoreCrafts.com

Remember Picasso:   “When you make a thing, a thing that is new, it is so complicated making it that it is bound to be ugly. But those that make it after you, they don’t have to worry about making it. And they can make it pretty, and so everybody can like it when others make it after you.”

The one thing that people tend to forget, though, was that Pablo Picasso was very talented at making academic style art. The reason he able to develop Cubism and invent collage was because he mastered realistic artistic techniques at an early age and was seeking new challenges. If artists lack the basic skills, they cannot create anything new and meaningful.
